The adventure begins....

Yes, we are really doing this.

This just about sums it up

After many years of planning, wishing, daydreaming, plotting, budgeting, we are really, truly going to do this. The Williams Family will be leaving on a jet plane (sorry, couldn't help it) on June 16, 2020. 230 days from now. But who's counting.....

How/why are we doing this? Well, it all kind of came together and June 2020-June 2021 is the Goldilocks year, it turns out. Mia will have just graduated from high school, Jack will have yet to start, Dmitri has a sabbatical at work. We sold our house, our cars are leased, we are taking the leap.

We have been doing research for years and now we are in the home stretch of planning. We started with, well, the world. Which countries/cities/sites did we want to visit? We got a wall map and some string and pins and started to put plot points. From there, Dmitri looked at weather and monsoon/typhoon/rainy/high/shoulder seasons and a spreadsheet was born. That spreadsheet has grown to include detailed pages with everything from specific places we want to stay to foods we want to eat to gear we want to take. We are so excited to share this journey with you via this website. We only hope that the trip is half as much fun as the planning has been!
